Would love top recommendations for a nicer family hotel.
Family friendly hotel in Ashland
The Plaza Inn %26amp; Suites is probably the best in town for a family. It%26#39;s located ';on the creek'; in the center of town, close to Lithia Park, Shakespeare Festival theaters, and a lot of good dining options.

We like the Plaza, also. The property is nice for a family, we like the Spa King Suite when we travel with our daughter. It has a separate sleeping area with an extra TV that is nice. There is Beasey%26#39;s on the Creek right next door for dining and around 10 every evening they set out PBJ%26#39;s, Milk and Chocolate Chip cookies that the kids like.
There is also an outdoor jacuzzi that is nice after a long day of traveling for us. It%26#39;s a very comfortable place. You can also walk to downtown from the hotel where the kids would like the Ashland Fudge Co. and there is a very cute little children%26#39;s bookstore there that I like.
Lithia Park is a fun place to take the kids, you used to be able to buy duck food there, but last time we were there it was gone. This would be my first choice for traveling with a family. When we travel as a couple, I like the Ashland Springs Hotel. Enjoy Ashland! :)
www.plazainnashland.com is the website! :)
I might check out ashland springs hotel. It was formerly the Lithia Hotel, but restored in 2000. It looks spendy, but it is fairly reasonably priced-considering that everything in ashland is spendy. It%26#39;s right downtown-walkable to lithia park, the shakespeare plays, ect.. The room I was in was comfy and had a more B%26amp;B atmopshere than a hotel.
have fun!
I forgot!! The Windmill Inn is also good for families, it has a swimming pool, tennis courts, etc. Its farther from down town (on the East side of I-5.) But i have always had good experinces here. I think that they might have a shuttle to the plays.
www.aslandpsringshotel.com is the website. The Getaway Package for $109 includes your room, a dinner certificate at Larks, 2 tickets to the Varisty theater and breakfast. Not too bad! :)
We have also stayed at the Bard%26#39;s Inn and it%26#39;s very family friendly. The pool is smaller but the kids still seem to enjoy it.
Bard%26#39;s Inn is right across the street from the Plaza, BTW. There is not a pool at the Plaza, just a small jacuzzi. :)
The Ashland Springs Hotel is lovely. Larks dining room is very nice, too., with an inexpensive and tasty children%26#39;s menu.
Don%26#39;t stay at the Plaza. It is possible that they have had a recent management change, as past reviews have been positive. It is getting quite run down now, and the current (August, see several posts for different guests including mine) management is just horrible and rude. The breakfast is also poor and it%26#39;s not very clean, either.
I%26#39;ve heard good things about the Windmill.

The Windmill Inn is very good for families. They have several different types of rooms, including one-bedroom suites. Free breakfast, nice pool, good facilities, and good service. They have shuttle service to the theatres.
