Hi all

am visiting Portland this weekend and would like to know where is the best shopping. I live in New York and would like to find some stores in Portland that are interesting and give the New York offering a run for its money.

If you%26#39;re serious, which is a little hard to believe, the best suggestions I can offer are Portland Farmer%26#39;s Market, Saturday Market, and Powell%26#39;s Books.

I, too, cannot believe you are serious. However, why no Google the Portland area Chamber of Commerce membership directory and see what strikes your fancy. You might also consider galleries, both arts and crafts which, more or less, are unique to the NW.

Pioneer Place is great, we also like the shops and boutiques in the Nob Hill area. Check out Wildwood or Paley%26#39;s Place there for a great meal!

People always ask us where we are from, how long are we here for ... LOL

Being from NY, today was one of those few times that I actually wished I was in NYC. I like to shop and the options here are limited, of course, there are fabulous boutiques around town and Nordstroms but nothing compares to shopping in NY....but I will be in Buenos Aires in about a month, we will do a Shopping Comparison chart for NY/BA/PDX :)

It was mentioned how one poster often invents another poster to ask herself a question ;),the question is always from someone with only one post who asks the question then-that special poster answers the question and poof,the asker is gone forever.Never to respond or be heard from again(except sometimes to give her(self) glowing compliments which give us a good chuckle on another forum).It is always a silly question most people dont need to ask.The post from the guy stating this was removed,,,,however it certainly would seem she was at it again.
