Can anyone recommend a reasonably-priced hotel near OHSU? It would be nice to stay somewhere that provides breakfast and has a swimming pool. Thanks!
Hotel near OHSU
There%26#39;s nothing really near OHSU, so I think any place downtown would work for you. I know the Residence Inn Riverplace has a pool, but not sure about breakfast. As a local, I haven%26#39;t stayed there, but have seen favorable reviews by those who have.
When are you coming to town? The Residence Inn isn%26#39;t too far from the kabillion dollar sky-tram being built from the river front up the hill to OHSU. You could be one of the first riders!!

The appointment is in two weeks... so I think we will be early for the tram. But I saw ';the beginnings'; the last time I was in PDX.
Thanks for the info!
If you will be visiting a patient at OHSU, contact the hospital. They might have facilities for family/visitors, or have connections with hotels for special deals.
Found that OHSU has this information on their website (it%26#39;s just a little buried): ohsuhealth.com/guide/鈥otel
We are going to give the Comfort Suites a try - I have stayed at others in that chain and they are usually nice.
Hope it works out for you, fiveforefun. How long are you going to be in town? If more than a couple days, you might consider a downtown Portland location. There%26#39;s not much around the Comfort Suites, so you should be planning to drive to get anywhere.
Thanks, mistletoe. We have an 830am appt at OHSU so for this trip we just need a convenient place to crash for the night before.
If we return for a longer stay then we are looking at staying in the Lloyd Center area as the Courtyard has a shuttle to OSHU and it%26#39;s close to the MAX line.
Here%26#39;s hoping you don%26#39;t have to return for a longer stay.
Just thought I would post a follow up!
The Comfort Suites was a good choice. It was clean and comfortable. The pool was a little cold, though. The breakfast was not as good as I had at other hotels in the same chain, but was enough to get the day going.
There doesn%26#39;t seem to be much in the area, so I would not recommend this for a vacation spot. But it suited our needs and the drive to OHSU was quick and not too traumatic... even during the morning rush hour! ;)
Thanks, everyone for your feedback!
Glad it worked ok for you:) It is always nice to hear back about these things. Hope all is well for your family.
