Leave on Friday morning

Well, we leave Friday morning to go home. Hubby has not had enough - he has always loved the Oregon coast. I think I was ready to go home by yesterday. Oregon is pretty but it has been cold for me.

Especially with this fog. I liked walking around and looking at the wall murals but that only takes a day or so to see.

Maybe if I liked to go on boats..... the first morning was kind of funny (for my husband). I made my coffee and went out on the balcony to enjoy it and came right back inside. It was so cold!!

I%26#39;m used to being in Hawaii and sitting out in the early morning with coffee. Oh well....

I think next time hubby wants to come and go fishing (which he likes to do at least once a year, if not twice) he can go with his friend who also likes to do the same stuff. Who also likes to go out on the boats and fishing.

It%26#39;s just not warm enough for me - LOL.

Give me a Maui beach anyday!! Oregon has just as much beauty but not he warmth.

LOL. I agree. I live 60 minutes from the beach. And guess what? I get to the LA beaches or Oahu/Maui way more than I do my own coast. It%26#39;s pretty ~ but I like heat and sand, not wind a cold biting wind and sand in my eyes. Ugh.

Send the hubby here, and then take off somewhere with just the gals!

I never hear about weather like that along our coast, aside from a day or even a week now and then, a whole month ? wow.

We were there too , but I guess Arch Cape and Cannon Beach are really different weather from Seaside, it was quite chilly and foggy ..

but I love the Oregon Coast, regardless of weather..

We stayed in Cannon Beach for a few days in early July. Not a soul was tanning during that week! Capris (a few shorts) and sweatshirts or light jackets was the most common attire.

I like the idea that next time your husband goes fishing, you take off and do a girls trip!

Glad you were able to visit Newport, it%26#39;s a delightful coastal town. We were there this summer on a day trip, we enjoyed the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Nye Beach there. Have a safe trip home! :)

I don%26#39;t need to lay out on a beach (I really need to learn to get less sun on me body) but I would like to walk around in shorts and t-shirt. No jacket. I really enjoyed the first two days here but then I was ready to go home.

I had fun today tho. We went crabbing in the am and it was too cold and windy and we caught nothing so we left within an hour.

We went to Nye Beach and got some yummy clam chowder with some garlic bread and tried walking on the beach but it was way too windy and foggy.

Then we went to Depot Bay to try and see some whales. Didn%26#39;t see any. But walked around and looked in a couple of shops. Got some yummy blackberry ice cream.

Went down the Otter rock drive and stopped at the gift shop there. That gift shop was actually the best one I%26#39;ve been in yet. Not junky stuff.

I bought a neat shell ring. I%26#39;m looking for a pair of shell dolphin earrings. Haven%26#39;t found any tho.

But all day I%26#39;ve been in my heavy sweat pants, polar jacket and a wind jacket on top of that! And keens -- my feet actually stay very warm in them.

I would love to go to Southern Cal. for a few days to just hang around the beach areas. I grew up there.

But when I did a search for condos there, I couldn%26#39;t find any. There are some houses for rent but way too expensive for just us two.

We don%26#39;t like staying in hotels and motels. We like condos.

I went to the Southern Cal. Trip advisor boards but no one ever answered me as far as condos go or there is NO traffic on the Redondo, Hermosa, Torrance area board.

If anyone knows of any condos in the southern Cal. area -- let me know...... Please.

Hubby will always come here to go sea fishing and I will come back with him but not every year. I think every few years or so is good for me.

When he comes here to fish, can you come on into Portland and pamper yourself with shopping, movies, eating and walking ?

It has been in the mid to high 80s here for weeks and I am wishing it would cool off a bit :)

Although, I understand how bored you could get out at the beach when it is so cold and wet, from everything all the people who live here or spend any amount of time here say, that is just the way the Oregon coast is!

If it is foggy in Newport hop on over to Toledo and visit the 2nd hand stores, or drive up Yaquina Bay to Toledo. This time of year when foggy in Newport sunny in Toledo.

Great little golf course in Toledo, take plenty of balls you will need them. Could even drive into valley to Corvallis and see OSU, where it would have been warmer.

Then I never tire of the coast. any time of the year. You have to see a winter storm.
