Lounge or bar with fireplace in/around Aloha?

Looking for an upscale or nicely decorated bar or lounge within 15 or so miles of Aloha, OR. Must have a fireplace. It%26#39;s a birthday wish of my mother%26#39;s to have her three daughters gather around a fireplace and have a toast. We will be up in that area in early October. Thank you for your help!!!!!

Lounge or bar with fireplace in/around Aloha?

Can%26#39;t think of anything around Aloha, but if you%26#39;re willing to drive 15 miles, you%26#39;ve got all of downtown Portland to choose from. And the place in Portland that comes immediately to mind is Fenouil, one of the nicest restaurants in the city. I%26#39;m sure your mother would love sharing dinner with her daughters at a table near one of the fireplaces there.

Hi AnniejLO, what a nice thought and welcome to the TA Forums! We enjoyed an excellent lunch at Fenouil las summer. It is very upscale, nicely decorated, has a bar and two fireplaces. The food is very good. I had the Butter Lettuces salad and the salmon, we found the lunch prices to be very reasonable, also.

Service was outstanding, complete with a French waiter and desserts are in smaller poritons, very inexpensive also, IMO. I like the concept of small dessert portions at lower prices that they offer here. Being from Napa (one of our favorite areas in CA) I think you will find Fenouil will meet your needs very nicely. It is located in the Portland Pearl District, bon appetit! :)

Wow! Thank you mistletoe and Syrahgirl! This forum concept is fantastic. I was spending hours on-line trying to determine if a particular lounge or bar had a fireplace but I was getting nowhere. You%26#39;ve saved me hours! (or days!)

You%26#39;re welcome! Please let us know how it goes after your experience. :)

Ditto! And do report back please, especially if you have dinner at Fenouil. As a CA resident herself, syrahgirl doesn%26#39;t get to Portland that often, so she%26#39;s never had the pleasure of dinner there. From personal experience, I can tell you that lunch in the summer is nice, but dinner in the fall should be a nice memory for your mom.

Hi Annie,

I live in Portland and have not been to many of the towns outside the city limits yet, there are Soooo many great places in Portland to enjoy, I have to work through these first :D

But...

';Upscale with a fireplace '; in Portland would be Fenouil..but really, go for dinner.

We go there often, lunch is very nice, all summer we enjoyed eating outside under umbrellas- but inside at night with a fire ( they have 2 open sided fireplaces) is just great!

The servers make you feel very cosseted and that will be perfect for your mom and for all of you :)

As in most ';good'; or upscale restaurants, especially French, they do not bury you under huge portions, they are not too small, they are a perfect size for a normal persons appetite.

Desserts are perfect, only problem with them is the difficulty in deciding which one to get, so take my advice, each of you get something different :)

Hope this helps, have a great time!

West Cafe on SW 12th %26amp; Jefferson is not as dear in price but has a very pretty fireplace/bar area with nice lounge chairs..might be nice for a stop in the evening or late afternoon.

Fresno is in Napa?

Check out Rock Creek Tavern in Hillsboro. Never been there but they do have a fireplace. Check out the McMenamins website and search for Rock Creek or other restaurants and taverns that they run close by. Most of the McMenamins taverns have a very warm and casual atmosphere. Do check the pictures though to see if it is your idea of nicely decorated. For upscale, I would take the drive into Portland.
