I was looking into Eugene, but unfortunately the company I would transfer thru does not have a facility there, but I was offered a job in Medford today. I have done all I can to research the Eugene/Salem area and now I am wondering about Medford. Can I live there on $10/hour, no other bills! Single/no family. I am concerned my company will not offer me any more than that.....UGH! What can I expect to find to rent? I am not sure anything at that wage. I may have to reconsider, what do you Medford people think? I haven%26#39;t even ventured out there yet, but I need to tell these people something this week. I wish I had time to come out there, it has been since the early 80%26#39;s since I have visited OR, and it was only a drive up the coastline and then into Crater Lake.......HELP!!!! LOL
Offered a job in Medford
Congratulations and I am sure it is scary too.
Medford sounds great, near Ashland..and all.
We will keep this topped so the guys who live nearby or visit Medford can see it and help you.
Good luck!!
Offered a job in Medford
A guy I went to high school with pays $475/mo for a 2bd off of Crater Lake Blvd about 1.5 miles from downtown. It%26#39;s a crappy 1970s building with carpet, parking lot, children, dogs, etc.
I really like the downtown area, especially since they%26#39;ve kinda half-heartedly tried to revamp it in the last 5 years or so. Could I live there at $10 an hour? Yeah, easily. As long as i stayed away from Chateaulin in Ashland and their golden beet salad (instead opting for a local burrito), I%26#39;d be fine.
The last post was mean spirited and I%26#39;ve asked that it be removed from the replies. Medford is a pretty good town, in the middle of great scenery, near Ashland and Jacksonville (and their dramatic and music events) and the coast. If you have been offered a job there, and you find the opportunity worth pursuing, I wish you well. Since you are coming from N. C., be warned about how cold it can get in the winter, as well as hot in the summers. http://www.visitmedford.org/
