I%26#39;m planning a trip through the Grants Pass area in late October and would like to find a small, high-quality B%26amp;B. Can anyone suggest a well-hosted, small establishment worthy of five TripAdvisor stars?

You may have better luck in Ashland, is that a possibility for you? :)

Hi, Syrahgirl. Thanks for your response. If I were able to tweak my itinerary to include Ashland, which B%26amp;B would you recommend? I%26#39;m looking for a small establishment with impeccable hosting.
Even in Ashland, I don%26#39;t know if you will find 5 star status, but there are close to three dozen B%26amp;B%26#39;s to choose from in Ashland and there%26#39;s much more to do in the town, also.
We usually stay at the Ashland Springs Hotel or the Plaza when we travel with the kids, but I have had friends return again and again to the McCall House in Ashland. www.mccallhouse.com
The Peerless Hotel is really cool, also. They have an amazing restaurant there where we enjoy dinner when we%26#39;re in Ashland. Chateaulin is another top-notch place to eat. There is also Lithia Park and a ';quaint'; downtown area in Ashland. Much more to offer than Grant%26#39;s Pass, IMO.
Have a great trip! :)
Try the Shrew%26#39;s House in Ashland (www.shrews.com). The Innkeeper is very sweet and breakfast is great!
So what you mean, syrahgirl, is that inabedofroses will have more options in Ashland, but you%26#39;ve never actually stayed in a B%26amp;B there, have you? I haven%26#39;t either, but when we were in town for a few days last year, I walked through a couple places I wouldn%26#39;t hesitate to stay in.
Ashland Creek Inn - http://www.ashlandcreekinn.com/ - would be my first pick of the two. It%26#39;s not a typical B%26amp;B, and not as small as what you%26#39;re looking for. But it has a very welcoming european-like feel, and in spite of it%26#39;s location in the middle of town, a peacefully quiet ambience.
The Iris Inn - http://www.irisinnbb.com/ - is more your typical B%26amp;B. The website photo doesn%26#39;t quite do it justice, as I remember it being picture-postcard-perfect when I first saw it. The possible downside to Iris Inn is it%26#39;s location, several blocks from the center of town and the Shakespeare Festival theaters.
Back to Grants Pass..... Friends of ours stayed at The Weasku Inn - http://www.weasku.com/indexOPEN1.html - a couple years ago, and have raved about it ever since. Maybe it would work for you, too, bedofroses.
Mistletoe, Fiveforefun, Syrahgirl, thank you for your worthy suggestions. I%26#39;ll look into each of them.
You%26#39;re welcome and please report back after your travels! :)
So, does anyone have feedback (other than the extant tripadvisor review) on the Touvelle B%26amp;B in Jacksonville? That wouldn%26#39;t take me too far out of the way of my planned return (from Portland to Eureka) via Highway 199 from Grants Pass to Crescent City. Any input?
You might post a question about Touvelle in a separate thread, inabedofroses. I think there%26#39;s a Jacksonville resident who occasionally posts here, and maybe you%26#39;ll catch his/her eye.
We didn%26#39;t stay there... but were in Jacksonville over LD holiday and on one of our walks we passed Touvelle. The grounds are looks beautiful. (We opted for a self-catering cottage over B%26amp;B... and I did a follow up post in the Jacksonville forum.)
