I am playing bandon in Nov. what is the closest airport and who flys there. I have heard eugene and or north bend I cant find who flys into either
where is the best place to fly into
North Bend is the closest. Depending on where you are flying from, there is a very good chance you will need to connect from another airport (i.e. Portland or Seattle)
where is the best place to fly into
Alaska/Horizon is currently the only airline to fly in to North Bend. And they come from Portland. There is talk of another airline coming in and Reno is one location they want a direct to but it hasn%26#39;t happend yet. North Bend is about 1/2 hr. from the airport and there is shuttles that go to Bandon dunes. The Eugene airport is 2.5 hrs. away, long ride. Check the Alaska website, and the airport code is OTH. There are also some other smaller companies that fly golfers in but I don%26#39;t know any names. You may try Coos Aviation, they should be able to help. They deal with all the small private outfits. 541-756-5181
One thing, this late it may be tough getting a seat on Horizan. They fly in to NB from Portland I think 4 times a day but the planes are small and usually full.
Hope this helps.
The NB airport is the best bet, but as Dreamin pointed out, it may be tough to get a seat his late in the game. If you cannot, I suggest Mahlon Sweet Field in Eugene (EUG). It %26#39;s the 5th largest airport in the NW and is only about a 2.5 hour drive from Bandon. Most major airlines have flights into EUG.

North Bend 1/2 hour from airport? Did they move it? been 15 or more years since I flew in there. Hope they did. was never one of my favorite places to fly into. Then not too many airports are.
NB airport right where it always was...on the Bay. Poster probably meant airport 1/2 hour from Bandon. Great little airport- employees have always been friendly to me when I have shipped cargo at the airport.
My bad. Yes I ment the airport was 1/2 hr. from Bandon.
I lived in Bandon last year- the only flights coming in to North Bend are out of Portland- You might get a flight to Portland, then a commuter connect to North Bend- if there%26#39;s no one to pick you up, you%26#39;d have to rent a car for the half hour drive to Bandon. The only other alternative is to fly to Eugene (2 and a half hours from Bandon) and take a bus into Coos Bay- they won%26#39;t tell you this, but if the bus is continuing south through Bandon, stay on and ask to be let off in Bandon at the very first stop light. (the bus stop there was cut due to economics)
