I am planning a trip to the Oregon towards the end of May. I am going to stay 2 nights on the Northern Coast and 2-3 nights in the Central Coast. I was looking for a place to stay that was centrally located where we could stay without changing hotels every night. I noticed that there are lots of condos that you can rent in Depoe Bay and they look really nice. I was wondering if anyone had insight into some of these condos. I was thinking about location, ocean views, etc. There are 3 of us -- myself and my parents. Also, was wondering if this is a good location for us to visit the Central Coast.
Thanks for your help.
Staying in Depoe Bay
Depoe Bay on sort of north end of good central coast. Then that depends on what you consider central coast.
we own part of condo in Depoe Bay, have spent several weeks there over last 6 years. we wander fairly easily as far south as Yachats, but only rarely get beyond there when in Depoe Bay.
Yachats may be better location if you hope to see Sand Dunes between Florence and North Bend and also see coast near Newport.
Staying in Depoe Bay
Thanks for your advice. We are probably only going to go as far south as Florence and as far north as Lincoln City (since we will be spending 2 nights on the Northern Coast). I will do some looking around especially in Yachats.
Whale Pointe is a good place to look. There is a Worldmark The Club timeshare portion and a residential portion of the complex. Great location, perched right on the clifftop overlooking the ocean.

If it fits your budget, try the Overleaf Lodge in Yachats. If it%26#39;s a little too spendy, the Fireside is right next door and owned by the same company. Same location; older facility.
If those do not work, the Adobe is another very nice facility, probably in the same class as the Fireside. It sets about 1/4 mile south of the other two. The advantage here is the on-site restaurant, which is very good by the way.
Speaking of retaurants, if you like fish and chips, Leroy%26#39;s Blue Whale, on hwy 101, Yachats, IMHO has the BEST fish ever. If you%26#39;re not into ';chips';, they%26#39;ll substitute a simple green salad. Just ask.

Thanks everyone for your great advice. I%26#39;m sure I will have more questions as I get closer to the trip.
