While traveling up the coast, we found a restaurant that I haven%26#39;t seen a review on. It%26#39;s Billy Smoothboar%26#39;s on Hwy. 101 in Bandon.
My family stopped here on a road trip up the California/Oregon coast and thought that it was definitely worth recommending for a quick lunch while traveling up Hwy101.
I overheard the hostess telling another table that all you have to do is to request being seated in a separate room to avoid any lingering smoke drifiting in from the lounge. We are quite sensitive to cigarette smoke, but we didn%26#39;t find the odor to be strong enough to bother us and didn%26#39;t request a move.
The food was really excellent! In our party, club sandwiches, bread bowls with clam chowder, chicken strips (kids) and dinner salads were ordered. All were really well prepared and served. The separate lounge has pool tables and TVs for the sports bar minded patrons. We found Billy Smoothboar%26#39;s to be good food at a fair price and would definitely stop in again.
Billy Smoothboar's Sports BarWe stayed in Bandon for a week last year visiting family. It is better described as a large restaurant %26amp; bar located in a hunting lodge along the highway, just outside of the small town. Beautiful high quality furnishings.
Plenty of locals were there when we had dinner. Must have a good reputation in the community. Other families were there as well. Yet, it was quiet and welcoming.
Menu selection was large. Plentiful portions made it memorable enough to add this recommendation. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. Service was several steps above the usual roadhouse experience.
We%26#39;ll be sure to visit again next year.
