extended stay in Pendleton

my husband and I may spend a couple of weeks in Pendleton, in our motor home

at the casino during November. He will participating in the poker tournaments. I am

a little reluctant to go for such a long time this time of year. I can only handle so much

of the casino and fear the cold weather might keep me couped up in the motorhome.

I would like some information on activities such as YWCA?, art classes available?,

dog parks (leash free?), etc....any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thank

you. Gena Pegg

The Underground tour is something you won%26#39;t want to miss. It is located on Emigrant and SW 1st. Right around the corner is the Main Street Diner where you will find the best breakfasts anywhere. Next to them is the Pendleton Popcorn Factory which has 59 flavors of popcorn that you just have to try,. Close by is the Heritage Museum which is fascinating. Just down the street from the Popcorn store is Hamley%26#39;s Western Wear which is pretty expensive but well worth the look.

And be sure you try the Rainbow Cafe.

The Umatilla%26#39;s Museum I think is one of best, they have done a good job of covering the history of the Umatilla Indians.

Will you be towing a car, so you can get around easily? You could get out and see some of rural Oreg, Heppner is one. spent a few years of my life there. Weston another. Some wineries near Umatilla in Wash though may not be open that time of year. Take a day to TriCities to spend your husband%26#39;s winnings

I have been in and out of Pendeton much of my life and was not til recent years I knew about the Underground. Nobody talked about it when I worked there in summers of late 50s One day I will go.
