Rock Springs Dude Ranch, Bend

Has anyone stayed at this ranch and, if so, what was it like? Planning a visit there next summer with family of assorted ages. Sounds v nice on website but cant find any impartial views about it. Also, from there we have to drive to Seattle. Any idea how long it may take as we need to do it in order to catch a car ferry to Vancouver Island which leaves Port Angeles at around 1pm. Thanks. Bend to Seattle is about 7 hours. But if heading to PA you can bypass Seattle by going around the peninsula. Bend to PA is about 8 hours. Are you talking about the Coho ferry over to Victoria? If so, definitely get a reservation. They only take a handful for each sailing, and it costs $15, but is worth it. You only need to get in line at PA 60 minutes before sailing, so is much better than everyone else who will be waiting for hours in line without a reservation. Returning on the ferry though you need to arrive 90 minutes before sailing. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Rock Springs Dude Ranch, Bend

Rock Springs is a good place - I haven%26#39;t stayed there, but I took a long, personal tour of their facility last year. They have a nice main lodge where food is served and the cabins are nicely done - not luxurious by any stretch (it is a ranch, after all) but comfortable. They have beautiful areas for horseback riding - and you%26#39;ll be able to do plenty of it. It%26#39;s a good choice for a dude ranch experience.

I%26#39;m staying at Rock Springs this coming weekend so when I get back next week I%26#39;ll fill you in. Flying in to Portland then driving to Bend via the ';pass'; as the locals seem to call it.

They are all passes to hear my friend : ) Have fun!

Just spent the weekend at Rock Springs Dude Ranch, very nice accomodations, like one post said it%26#39;s not luxury, remember it is a dude ranch. The food was just great, the staff super friendly, the cabins nice (no locks on the doors, took this city boy a while to be comfortable with that!) They have a really nice Lodge with w-fi if you can%26#39;t live for more than a day without a %26#39;puter. They have a nice pool but it was too chilly for us to use. They do have tennis courts and horseback riding. To me it was refreshing not to be connected to the outside world. I flew into Portland%26#39;s airport and rented a car, I used the Rts. 26 to 97 way to Bend, it was 169 miles from the airport, took a little over 3 hours, not much traffic, only few trucks. Bend is about 6 miles away, again if you need to they do have a shopping mall complete with all the normal chain stores. I would endorse Rock Springs, really nice facility.

Thanks Boater Boy:) Always nice to hear how a place is. Sounds like a nice time. I would be looking for a lock too though, lol!
