Girls' weekend (on a budget)

I would like to take my daughter (7) on a ';girls%26#39; weekend'; some time before Christmas. Any ideas for where to take her and what to do?

We have done OMSI, the zoo, Enchanted Forest, Sunriver, etc... and am looking for something different that she would enjoy, and might only get to do when it%26#39;s just the two of us (I also have a son and a step-daughter, so this is one of our few chances for one on one time).

She is a girly-girl and would love to get her hair done, toenails painted etc... but I don%26#39;t know of anywhere that provides that service for kids (let alone whether I could afford it).

She also enjoys sports and shopping so I was thinking about Portland. But I don%26#39;t know what the crowds are like on the weekends this time of year.

Any thoughts?

Get tickets to either The Nutcracker and/or The Singing Christmas Tree. Both are excellent productions! Don%26#39;t worry about the crowds in Portland on the weekends. There will be the holiday shoppers out, but it just adds to the excitement without being too crowded, if that makes any sense. As far as having her nails and hair done, you could easily do that yourself for her. Let her pick some special nail polish, and then in your hotel room make a big deal of doing her nails and hair. She could feel like a princess, without you spending the money for it.
