Kind of depends on what you%26#39;re looking for. The Heathman is a downtown classic hotel restaurant, and more traditional-type setting for a Thanksgiving dinner. You probably wouldn%26#39;t want to show up in jeans. But that wouldn%26#39;t be a problem at Lucy%26#39;s Table, which is located in a funky-trendy NW neighborhood. Lucy%26#39;s is a fairly small space, but should be fine for conversations; no worries about that at Heathman.

As for food, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner doesn%26#39;t allow much room for creativity. Still, I believe you%26#39;re more likely to be surprised - and hopefully pleasantly ;-) - by preparations at Lucy%26#39;s. I suspect the chef their will find some way to a uniquely northwest touch to the meal. Heathman, on the other hand, has more of a reputation to protect and uphold. But, both should be good.

We had dinner at the Heathman this summer and really enjoyed it. It was very convenient since we were staying at the hotel. The food was great and the service very good. We were there on a Sat. night and it was pretty loud and boisterous in the dining room.

We also had brunch the next morning at the restaurant and everything was again, very good. Good luck and enjoy your time in Portland! :)

Sometimes Hotels are nice for holiday meals but Portland has some restaurants that do Thanksgiving so well!

My first choice would be the Heathman but if you think you might like to go to a restaurant outside of a hotel, look into Paleys Place . A wonderful way to enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner ..

The Heathman is elegant, great service, good food and awesome dessert.

Bpth the Heathman and Lucy%26#39;s are very nice. I definitely recommend The Heathman fpr breakfast - best eggs benedict in the world. For dinner you might consider Giogrio%26#39;s or Carlyle. My experience is that these two restaurants serve the best food in Portland.
