I live in Portland for last 6 yrs with my 2 daughter 12 %26amp; 7 and love it here. We couple of close friends were wondering about any ideas for thanskgiving week 2-day trip to go out and stay in a cottage or somewhere fun that kids could enjoy too. Of course Beach options exists, but was wondering about any inland options closer to Portland other than Sunriver,Bend. Any ideas ?

What types of activities does your family enjoy?
Things that come to mind are Mt Hood area, the Gorge, Eugene... but it really depends on what you want to do when you get there! ;)

We%26#39;re looking for just time away from home %26amp; city - taking break not really doing much planned activites but having fun with friends/families in some cozy location. But cross-country skiing or snow shoeing probably could be fun. any ideas on private resorts or log cabins that could be rented ? if we get access to indoor stuff like Tennis, Swimming etc..that would be even better !
