Oceanfront lodging in Seaside

We are looking for a 2/2 oceanfront condo for April 2007. We%26#39;ve stayed at #403 Promenade Condo before and ABSOLUTELY loved it, but the price has increased so much that we can%26#39;t afford it. ($205/night in April). We%26#39;ve stayed at the Tides by The Sea and were pleased with it and the price was great, but the location is a little bit too far south for us. Can anyone recommend something affordable and oceanfront, or does $205/night sound reasonable? We really prefer to stay at Seaside as opposed to Cannon Beach, Lincoln City. We really need oceanfront because we%26#39;re taking my husband%26#39;s grandmother and while we are out doing things, she will be staying in the condo and watching the ocean (and people watching).

Thanks.

Do you want to stay by the Turnaround or at the other end of the prom? We also enjoyed a very nice stay at the Tides last June for 4 nights. The location was great for us for our surfing needs.

You may want to check out the Inn of the Four Winds. IIt is not a condo tho. It has received good reviews from others who have stayed there. You may also want to check out the Resort @ Seaside, it is located right at the Turnaround. ';_

Unfortunately, $205 for a 2/2 oceanfront condo is probably not out of line. I think they%26#39;re getting close to those prices at Inn of the Four Winds, and that%26#39;s just for a hotel room, albeit one of the nicer ones in Seaside.

Thanks for the replies. I have continued searching and did find a 2/2 close to the Turnaround for $160/night plus cleaning fee. I think this is a great rate considering it%26#39;s oceanfront and a 2/2!!

arkansasgirl, for what it is worth, I live in Portland but I am a newbie and mistletoe as well as the other Local Experts in Oregon/Portland have helped me greatly with all my question regarding the coast and elsewhere in the state. You are in good hands taking his and their advice..

syrahgirl, why would you stay in a hotel if you really own a place in Seaside?

That is a great rate, arkansasgirl! I hope you enjoy your stay and have a great time at the coast. If you want a nice Italian meal, the Taste of Tuscany is very good. Happy travels! :)

What%26#39;s the name of the place, arkansasgirl? And please report back after your trip. From the lack of responses on this thread, it%26#39;s clear that we regular Oregon forums posters don%26#39;t know much about lodging in Seaside. With stays in two different places, you could well become the expert! ;-)

It%26#39;s at the Promenade. I think the link is www.oceanside1.com. Hopefully, that%26#39;s right. I had to do some digging to find it, though.

I think more people that post here stay in Cannon Beach and south than Seaside, no? Judging from the responses and all.

They look nice, arkansasgirl! Staying by the Prom will provide your husband%26#39;s grandmother with lots of people watching and activity! You may want to pick up the December issue of Oregon Coast magazine, Seaside is featured on the cover and there is a nice article titled ';Fun in the Sun'; on Seaside. Enjoy! :)

syrahgirl--I saw that magazine at the store this morning and laughed. Fun in the sun...when it is almost December??? LOL! Not here in Oregon!
