Bend was delightful

Just want to say my family and I had a great time in Bend. We were pleasantly surprised how many great activities the city has to offer for everyone. We are fairly active so it was nice to hike and run and river raft, but we also had a lot of slower paced activities. The High Desert Museum, floating on an air mattress at Drake Park, putt putt golf or just walking the many trails of the city are just a few of the things you can do if you are in the mood for slower paced vacation. Also want to say, the Mt. Bachelor Village Resort was a great find. We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo and it felt like home except better - it%26#39;s got maid service!

Oh I like that...felt like home with maid service :)

I look forward to going to Bend, I hear so much good stuff about it..Glad you all had a good time.

Glad you enjoyed it. We just spent a week in the area ourselves. The area is fantastic for outdoor activities! We go several times a year and never tire of it.

So do we - at least a half-dozen times a year. Best snow (at a developed resort) in the NW in the winter at Mt. Bachelor, and the best mountain biking in the summer.

The dining in Bend has just skyrocketed - so many great places now! We did Staccato at the Firehall two weeks ago for the first time, and I think it replaced Cork as our favorite in town. Went to Vino Mercato for some excellent dessert, wine, and live music afterward - wonderful. Lunch on the patio at Pine Tavern, or at Robby J%26#39;s Bistro overlooking the river...

Too bad the big Sisters fire is going right now - all the beautiful mountain views are gone - just smoke. Bummer.

Thanks for writing about your trip to Bend and I%26#39;m glad to hear you had a great time!
