hotel with nice pool in Portland?

Hi. We%26#39;re coming up tomorrow for a week of house-hunting and touristing. We%26#39;d like a hotel with a pool (for our 9yo swimmer) that is accessible to SW Portland.

Any suggestions?

The Hilton , downtown , has a pool and there is one at or by Riverplace hotel ( which I would not recommend staying in but maybe you can use the pool)..

Our move date is unknown. Depends upon how long it takes to get our house sold. The market suddenly is glutted here.

How is the Residence Inn at RiverPlace? And how would that compare to staying in a Tigard or Lake Oswego hotel? And any knowledge of the Comfort Suites Southwest?

Meanwhile I%26#39;ll check out the Hilton, but it might be too pricey.

OK, in town-- The Days Inn ( not sure if it is nice) , the Marriott Downtown, and Oakwood Essex House ( this is an apt bldg that rents apts by the day/week also..beautiful bldg and very nice apts )

How far SW are you looking?

I%26#39;m guessing the Tigard hotel is the Embassy Suites at Washington Square, and the Lake Oswego hotels are not really in LO, but at the intersection of hwy 217 and I-5. I%26#39;d pick either of those locations before that of Comfort Suites. But all three locations are probably better than Residence Inn if your focus is on househunting.

Honestly though, you likely don%26#39;t save much more than 15 minutes of drive time by staying in one of the SW location hotels, so why not pick the downtown location.

Celle, the pool is not at the Riverplace property. It is actually at the Riverplace Athletic Club, down the street. You have complimentary access to the club with your stay at Riverplace. It%26#39;s a great facility which now has a full service day spa also. The Riverplace Hotel is a luxury property, down by the waterfront in Portland.

Celle, as you might notice, some people feel very strongly about their favorite hotels, even when they only stayed there once, a long time ago.

At least you seem to have lots of choices.

The Residence Inn on the river has a nice pool. There is some construction close by but it remains a good place at a good price with good access to SW Portland.

BTW, Scarlett, this morning I did call the apartment/hotel you recommended, but you have to call at least 4 business days in advance. (Sigh. It looked great.)

Now to try to pack for our trip and hope that our liquids/gels don%26#39;t explode in our suitcases in the airplane cargo hold!

Celle, our bldg has apts that are rented by Oakwood, they do the same thing. In fact, there are some movies being filmed in town and we have a movie director and a producer living here for the filming..

Would you like for me to ask here if there is an apt available? We are right in the Pearl...
