Northwest Vacation

Hi

We have just returned from a trip to the Northwest (mostly Oregon) and had a fantastic time. I did promise to post my thoughts as we were planning to do a relatively mild whitewater trip. There were some really good outfitters to choose from but decided to go with Ouzel and do a half day trip on the McKenzie as they were able to pick us up across from our hotel in Sisters. They were very good and It was an excellent trip and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum who helped me plan the trip.

How was the wildfires when you were there?

Hi Rivergallery , sorry for the delay in replying.

We stayed at the Best Western Ponderosa Lodge in Sisters - fabulous place with really lovely rooms. When we got to Sisters the fires were under control and a little way from Sisters. There was a slight smell of smoke in the early hours of the morning, but apart from that it didn%26#39;t affect the air - still beautiful sunny skies. Sisters is a really sweet place.

Loved Oregon and its people and can%26#39;t wait to return - have to start saving again for another trip.
