Baby Friendly Hotel

We plan on taking a roadtrip to Portland in the next month or two. I reviewed Scarlett01%26#39;s list of preferred hotels from a previous post....however, I will be bringing my two babies and am not sure if the hotels are baby friendly. Scarlett01 and Portland Locals, your advise would be appreciated on places to stay. We would prefer that the hotel is near attractions so that we do not have to drive. Thanks.

Baby Friendly Hotel

When my wife and I first visited Portland, we stayed at The Governor hotel for a week with our 7 month old baby. It was a great experience. The hotel supplied a portable crib and gave us a room away from any elevators or other potential sources of noise. Plus, the rooms have great shades and we could practically blacken the room which was essential for our baby to fall asleep.

The hotel is rather pricey though. I suggest you find a hotel in your price range and give them a call and ask them about cribs, the possibilty of a room away from noise, etc... There response to your questions will tell you a lot about their view on having babies stay at their hotels.

Note: Try to get a hotel within walking distance of eateries or a market. Of course being that one of us had to be with my son, this meant that as of 7:00 (his bedtime), one of us had to stay in the room. We were a couple of blocks from Wholefoods Market and I can%26#39;t tell you how convenient is was to be able to just walk over and pick up a good tasting high quality dinner at a great price.

Baby Friendly Hotel

Hi

The 5th Avenue Suites is very baby friendly as well as Pup friendly :D

Having a suite with a fridge and a bit more room is much nicer than a small or ordinary sized hotel room.

Most hotels in downtown Portland will enable you to get around without a car.

On my list, forget about ( at this time) the Paramount ( construction) %26amp; Riverplace ( construction and not central in town).. You might want to look into the Inn@Northrup too, they have larger rooms, and the suites have kitchenettes..it is right on the streetcar line in the NW neighborhood, very easy to get around..

Hope this helps...call the hotels and ask questions too, they are so friendly here and helpful!
