The Black Walnut Inn - Dundee

This is my second posting regarding the Black Walnut Inn, in Dundee Oregon. Apparently I provided a link which is not allowed, or someone complained, which is weird.

So I will ask again, hopefully in the correct TA way...

Someone on another forum spoke of staying in this Inn. According to the link The Black Walnut Inn dot com, the place looks beautiful and is right along the wine route where we would like to visit this fall.

Being a brand new Portlander, I thought it would be an excellent way to spend a weekend wine tasting.

Has anyone been here? Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Thank you very much, I appreciate it and hope this stays on the board :)

Don%26#39;t know about the Black Walnut, but I%26#39;m curious too.

The TA thing I do know about though. URLs are not allowed on TA - they ramdomly patrol and remove posts that contain them. They seem to last a lot longer in this forum than some of the more popular ones, though.

Scarlett--I answered on your other thread, but will share it again just in case it is helpful. As you know, I live very close to our wine region, and many friends are heavily involved in the industry. While I have not stayed there, the Black Walnut Inn is spoken very highly of around here. Same with Youngberghill B%26amp;B and the McMenamins in McMinneville.

Regarding posts disappearing. It is random, but people also tend to report posts like that. I think out of sheer nastiness, but that is another story:)

Thanks !!

I understand posting or copying someones material without permission, but part of giving travel help is to be able to provide links for hotels, museums, etc. I guess everyone manages to get along without it so I will remember next time. I thought I would wait til there were a bunch of answers before I copied everything down, mtngrl, so I forgot all the advice I had gotten lol.

Thank you again :)

I stayed at the Black Walnut Inn based on a recommendation from a Portland, OR-based business associate. It was wonderful! The hosts were very gracious, the views spectacular, and the breakfasts delightful. The inn sits at the top of a hill and on a clear day you can see Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson. There are awesome views of the Willamette Valley. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. The breakfast menu offers great choices and the food was delicious. The hosts provided dinner reservations at fantastic restaurants. This part of my trip to Oregon was the highlight, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a memorable, special place to stay.

Atlanta, GA

Hey, Atlanta! Thanks very much for the review :)

My jusband and I just stayed at the amazing (!) Black Walnut Inn. It has the look and feel of a Tuscan villa, beautifully decorated, terrific views, awesome food and wonderful hosts. I%26#39;m posting this in late October and if the weather is still good...book a room for the week-end and tour the wine country. You won%26#39;t be disappointed. We stayed in a room called %26#39;Rapture%26#39; that has a balconey looking right out onto the vineyards that included Mt. Hood in the background. We stepped out onto that balconey one morning to a scarlet sunrise. I have been to Tuscany, but I never saw anything quite that spectacular. The entire place has a very serene feel to it, and while at night it is so quiet you can hear a pin drop, the morning breakfast tables are full of lively exhanges of conversation all coupled with the warmth of their wonderful staff. Black Walnut Inn. It%26#39;s at the top of our list.

I%26#39;m not a regular on this board, and what I say will probably be erased...but since Trip Advisor is owned (or the other way around) by Expedia and features lots of websites for BOOKING hotels, they do NOT want hotel websites posted because they do NOT want people booking directly, thereby ';cutting out'; the commission that would come by booking through one of their companies. Please notice that when you look at any hotel review on TA, it NEVER includes the phone number. That is just my theory, but it is based on common sense and what I have seen happen on other boards...so read this quick, and don%26#39;t expect to see me anymore because I might be banned!

Warmwinds, TripAdvisor allows links to websites now, for Travel purposes.

Then I stand corrected...sorry.

Now that we can post the link to the Inn, here it is.

Anyone wanting to stay here , should book soon, the holidays bring quite a lot of visitors to the area and the Inn seems to do a great business from what I hear.

While browsing the site, you can see each of the rooms and their amenities, anyone who has actually stayed here would be welcome to post here and describe something that might not be available from their site.
