Motel 6 on S.E. Powell

Can anyone tell me the best way to get from the airport to the Motel 6 on S.E. Powell? I am thinking taxi, but wanted to be sure.

Also, anyone know of any affordable eating places near that Motel 6?

Thanks,

A lot of posters here know and take the Max trains from the airport but I find taxis to be the easiest and surest way...I tend to get lost :)

Our posters familiar with the SE will be better able to help you with eating places but this will top your question for you :)

Think I would grab a cab, and I am one who suggests Max light rail to downtown, but if you do that then you need to catch a bus which is not too hard to do. but not handy with any luggage.

Motel 6 not is real great location for nearby stuff. Been awhile since i have been along there. on Powell so don%26#39;t know recent changes.,

Stan:

I guess you%26#39;ve read the not-so-glowing reviews of this motel, so you know what you%26#39;re in for. (tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g52024-d122295-鈥?/a>).

You cannot get to this area via MAX directly. If you%26#39;d like to use a combination of MAX %26amp; bus, use the Trip Planner feature on Tri-Met%26#39;s website for the quickest route. Otherwise, get a cab. Estimate around $25 for the ride.

SE Powell is not known for the fine dining...lots of fast-food joints though. My wife is in a bowling league with her office at the AMF Pro 300 Lanes across from this Motel 6. The only places she or I have ever eaten down there are Burgerville or Jack-in-the Box. Oh, also the grub at the bowling alley...yum! Good luck!

What are you looking for in top end budget price? Many hotels will negotiate down if you connect direct. Do you have a special reason for staying in that area?

IStay at the motel 6 in Troutdale. It%26#39;s directly accessable to Downtown Portland by bus 7 days a week. The rooms are nice and for about $30 you can%26#39;t beat the price.

Thanks everyone for the info! Well I will only be at this place for a few nights anyway. I am moving from Vermont to Portland, and I will have my cat with me. That is the reason for Motel 6, it is cheap, and allows pets. But I am glad to know what to be careful of in this place, and this area. It will only be for the first few nights until I find a furnished room near downtown. Thanks again!
