Has got to be right up there with one of the worst restaurants ever -based on service (downright rude), overpriced ($19 for dinner with potatoes only-micro sized piece of fish-vegetables are $6 extra). If we can save somebody from going there, then something good has come.

Yikes, that%26#39;s too bad. Thanks for posting your opinion and welcome to the TA forums! :)
Landmark Inn Restaurant
They used to be a customer of mine about 7 years ago and I had intimate knowledge of their kitchen. I%26#39;ll put it as nicely as I can, I would not eat there until the place was burnt to the ground and rebuilt from the ground up. Things may have changed some since I%26#39;ve been there but there where things in that building that could be gotten rid of unless it all came down.
If you ever go to Yachats again try the Drift Inn family Pub across the street. I have no knowledge of their kitchen but we ate there a couple of times when we stayed in Yachats last Fall. Good food, great service, and a cool atmosphere.
LOL you put it nicely Dreamin! I am happy that I knew nothing about this place..You never know, some people recommend restaurants without ever going to them, and other people end up getting a nasty surprise..so frank reviews like this are welcome!
Longtime Landmark owners sold this past year. Sounds as if the new owners haven%26#39;t improved things at all.
Dreamin is right about the Drift Inn. I know the owner there as well (phirl, she is an ex-USFS employee) and she has done a nice job....good food; nice atmosphere; live music on most weekends.
If you want perhaps the best fish-n-chips on the coast, I suggest Leroy%26#39;s Blue Whale, just up the street. I%26#39;m talkin lunch here, not the dinner.

Wow! I%26#39;m surprised... My wife, daughter and I had dinner there , late afternoon, on September 3 2006. I had the fish and chips (Cod) as did my wife. My daughter had a bacon cheeseburger.
The fish seemed fresh and the frying was done well with clean oil, and hot so that it was not greasy. Flavor overall was quite good. The fries were seemingly home-made and crisp, nice and fluffy inside. Good flavor.
I do not like tartar sauce so I skipped it, opting instead for vinegar (on the table) and salt, my fave anyway.
The salad, Cole salw, was fresh, crispy and peppery... really one of the best I%26#39;ve had, though as with the tartar sauce, cole slaw is not one of my favorote things. But you know, cole slaw, usually pretty awful, can be good.... and te cole slaw at Landmark was good.
My wife, who had the same as I (see above) was also quite content. Emily had the bacon cheeseburger and said it was the best she%26#39;d had at a restaurant ever (home is another matter).
The place itself is certainly a bit of the old Oregon coast, a little dumpy and added-on. Not many tables and the tables are not what you%26#39;d call fine. But it was most definately ok and in fact better than that, pretty good. It smelled nice, there was no off odors, the ffod was tasty and clean tasting without off flavors. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal at a reasonable price... which is another thing, by the way. Not expensive, not cheap, just about right. $42.00 for the three of us w/o tip, no alcohol. Which reminds me, the coffee was alright, which to me, at the coast, is amazing.
