While in Oregon, did you make it to the Galley-Ho, er, uh I mean Dory Cove??

That makes me laugh every time!
I did make it and it was just as good as I remembered. Dory Cove was one my Grandma%26#39;s regular stops. But after she passed away we stopped going there, so it had been years since we were there.
When we pulled up I told my family about the whole Galley-Ho, Dory Cove mix up....they were cracking up!
Thanks again for reminding me about an oldie, but a goodie! We%26#39;re heading up to Oregon next month and I%26#39;m bringing my husband there.
Have you tried the donut shop that sits on the corner of Logan and 101? It%26#39;s called Lighthouse Donuts and is in the same complex as West Coast Bank and right next to Cold Stone . The people who own it used to own the 60%26#39;s Cafe, which was also in that same area. I%26#39;m a Krispie Kreme girl myself but these are pretty darn good!

Well, I%26#39;m still not laughing, but I will in time I%26#39;m sure ;-)
Donuts are off limits to me. Due to high blood sugar levels, I became a low-carb eater about 2 yeras ago. Dropped 70 + pounds and found that sugar, especailly refined sugar, was what was causing a miriad of health problems for me.

Wow, Den, that is fantastic!
Good for you Den! 70+ pounds takes a lot of willpower!
The reason my family found the whole mix up so funny is because it%26#39;s something that happens in our family all the time.
A few years ago we were in Mexico at an eco-park and my mom kept saying ';ole'; to the parrots. They just looked at her like she was crazy. She finally said, ';stupid birds, they don%26#39;t even understand Spanish!'; After we stopped laughing we told her it was hola, not ole.
Then the time in Tahiti she inisted on ordering a piece of lemon pie in French. I should point out she doesn%26#39;t speak French either. She ended up with a glass of sour lemonade. When she tried to correct her mistake she ended up with a slice of lemon.
On top of that my niece never calls a restaurant by it%26#39;s real name. She calls the Yamhill Grill in Newberg Emily%26#39;s because it looks like a place someone named Emily would own.
So we could really appreciate the mix-up!
