Here are some of the photos I took on our recent trip to Oregon.
We start in Portland, take the scenic highway to Multnomah Falls, then backtrack to 26, by Mt. Hood and over to Bend. Spend a few days in and around Bend (up Mt. Bachelor, whitewater rafting, Paulina Peak and East Lake) then back.
Many thanks to everyone on the forum for much needed help in planning our trip - we had a great time!!

Photos I promised
Great photos, thanks! Bend looks pretty, I have not been there yet. My daughter brought a friend up to our condo at Huntington Lake (CA) this weekend and she was telling us about the nice time she had there this summer. :)
Photos I promisedGreat photos, ohliz!
I have been to those falls several times and cannot get up the courage to walk across that bridge lol.
Thanks for posting these photos..
Great pics! I loved seeing all my favorite places:) My DH and DS were just over there this weekend backpacking. Their pics from the summit of the South Sister showed where one fire was burning. The Old Mill District is nice...they have really done so much with all of Bend.
Syrahgirl--Well then you will have to start taking our advice and seeing more of Oregon when you visit then just Seaside and Astoria. We have tried to suggest that before. There are many of us that could give you suggestions:)
Is it true that they call Lake Huntington the Poor mans Lake Tahoe?
I was last in Bend in 2001 and I was really surprised at how much had changed. Major intersections along the river don%26#39;t have traffic lights, they have new landscaped circles with brick streets...rather nice, I thought. Lots of new stuff like the Old Mill district. Lots more houses - not sure if i like that as much.
I could have spent two weeks just doing things within an hour of Bend, we had 5 days, not nearly enough.
ohliz--Yes, MAJOR changes since 2001! I agree about the homes:( We always stay at Sunriver, so the new interchange there will be nice. No wondering if you will make it across the highway alive! We go there several times a year, and each time we notice more and more changes. And yes, you can spend weeks there and still not do everything. I really envy sillybilly and imagist!!!
Good to see the photos. I particularly like the Paulina and East Lake photos, favorite place of mine that deserves more attention. Then maybe not. Our other crater lake, had it not blown out west end, it would have been just like famous crater lake, but still easy to see the crater, just takes a bit more looking.
