The ArtsThere is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Cannon Beach has lots of nice art galleries, Astoria has the Liberty Theater and is full of culture. www.oldoregon.com

The site that Scarlett gave you is great. Another place to look for more obscure things is www.pdxmagazine.com. I picked up a copy yesterday and they have all sorts of stuff listed, not just the usual.
But there are arts in other places beyond Portland, so you would need to check other avenues as well. Bend and Ashland have strong arts communities.
Syrahgirl--You have posted before that you have not been to any shows here...hopefully on another trip to Oregon you can stop long enough to see something.
