My husband and I are planning to take a long awaited honeymoon for a 10th anniversary in September of 2007.
We live in Washington State and are looking to travel to the Oregon Coast.
I know we want to start in Yachats and work our way back towards Washington. I would like to visit Seaside and Astoria toward the end of our trip which will be about 5 nights.
We need help with the in between.
If anyone has a good iternary suggestion we would appreciate it.
Thanks.
Need Help Planning Oregon Coast Vacation (Honeymoom)
Yachats to Astoria on hwy 101 is a little over 150 miles, with a healthy chunk in the middle being inland, which means less to do/see. So I suggest picking one central and one northern coast town for your overnights, and doing sightseeing trips from each of those. Yachats is a great spot, right in the middle of a very scenic stretch, so that seems a natural central coast pick. If you%26#39;ve got five nights total, maybe stay three there.
You say you want to visit Seaside and Astoria, but I would suggest another town for your two nights on the north coast. My personal favorite is Cannon Beach. It%26#39;s just a cute little town, not geared to a teenage crowd (as is the case with Seaside), and close to Ecola State Park, which I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll want to see.
Once you decide on an itinerary, there are several of us who can help with lodging and sightseeing/activity suggestions.

Always have and always will recommend The Surfrider Resort as a romantic getaway location. It%26#39;s my favorite place to stay on the beach (hotel/motel-wise). On a cliff overlooking the Pacific which provides some amazing views from the windows of the rooms. It%26#39;s also got it%26#39;s own little private beach. It%26#39;s not the newest, but we really enjoy staying there...the price is great too! Excellent on-site restaurant with views over the water as well. It%26#39;s between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay.
We stay here for our anniversaries/valentine%26#39;s day if we head to the coast for that type of occasion.
